The 36.
Follow the effects.

Images, nature, authority and lived consequences. Begin with what happens to people in Assiah; explore Yetzirah as the layer of symbolic interpretation.

These are the 36 spirits of Testament of Solomon chapter 18, compared with 36 ten-degree faces. The original eleven remain a separate, linked catalogue. Descriptions of harm belong to the ancient account; modern titles and Yetzirah readings are our authored interpretations. Symptoms and coincidences cannot identify a spirit or a person's character.

Our modern behaviour profiles stay distinct

The four concepts below are working app characters. Their Hebrew connections follow our discussion, not a claim that chapter 18 names them. We have not forced them into the 36.

The Rescuer

Help becomes leverage: repeated intervention, ignored consent, then demands for loyalty or repayment. Track those actions rather than labelling ordinary generosity.

ע Ayin · Throne in Reverse

Authority without responsibility: unilateral decisions, blame shifted downward, credit taken upward. Track decisions, resources and accountability.

The Romantic Who Cannot Say It

Affection stays implied while promises remain unclear. Track words, agreements and follow-through; private feelings alone are not harm.

ג Gimel · The Runner

Expansion becomes evasion: new possibilities repeatedly replace existing commitments. Track departures and broken agreements; do not equate Gimel or abundance with harm.

Who rules means three different things

The textual restraint is the angel, name or protective formula said to counter the spirit. The face ruler comes from a comparative astrological sequence. The chamber domicile ruler belongs to the zodiacal sign scheme. Keeping them separate preserves the history.

Planetary masculine and feminine labels describe a traditional symbolic classification, not a person's gender or a measured physical energy. Our Hebrew correspondences follow Babylon. The Yetzirah-to-Assiah chain here is a modern interpretive model; it is not asserted as a shared ancient doctrine.

This edition does not predict harmful events. A sky position can later be displayed alongside an observation, with its calculation method and uncertainty, without claiming the position caused it.

Sources & image provenance

Catalogue spellings follow the existing Duling-based atlas; witnesses vary. The online adapted translation uses Iudal for no. 5 and other alternative spellings. No. 13 has a tendon/nervous-illness variant, no. 27 has a disputed reading, and no. 29 retains an obsolete historical label only in its source context. Ancient remedies are recorded as literary counterforces, not treatment instructions.

All illustrations are newly generated editorial scenes of fictional people using the built-in image tool. They depict situations, not historical spirit appearances. See the individual prompt set for the art direction.
